Uptown Rally Against AAPI Racism
Uptown, Chicago, Illinois, 2021 May 2, 12 Noon. The Uptown Clergy Group is hosting an inter-faith Uptown Rally Against AAPI Racism outdoors at the Buddhist Temple of Chicago, 1151 W Leland Ave, Chicago, IL 60640 on Sunday, 2021 May 2 at 12 Noon. The rally addresses hate crimes against Asian Americans Pacific Islanders in the United States and the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, which includes Asia on Argyle. Invited speakers include Illinois State Senator Mike Simmons, Rev. Patti Nakai of the Buddhist Temple of Chicago, Rev. Rev. Ji Eun Mori O of the Ravenswood UMC, and Pastor Nick Kim of Uptown Baptist. Participants are invited to make signs/posters with the social media hashtag slogans #StopAsianHate or #StopAAPIHate.
